A Message from Superintendent Hilary Bales

We are happy you are here! The Waynesville R-VI School District offers something for every student and you will find a place where you belong among our 5,800 students who speak more than 30 different languages.

The district's mission is to “Prepare and empower individual lifelong learners for opportunities as citizens and leaders.”

All schools in the Waynesville R-VI School District have been ranked in the top one-third in the state by U.S. News and World Report for 2024.

From after school care to free tutoring to fun clubs, such as robotics and coding, to sports, Waynesville R-VI offers a variety of after school programs.

Coming back to school and getting in routine is always daunting, but having Cydnee right down the hall singing and dancing during passing period, checking in on other teachers as she walks the halls, and an overall happy demeanor helps boost morale for everyone.

WHS - Cydnee Gilmore

Ms. Koch is a difference-maker due to her exceptional ability to connect with a diverse range of students consistently adding value to our district. She creates a learning environment that is fun, engaging and challenging, sparking a new interest and passion in her students.

WCC - Emily Koch

Melanie is such a legendary human. She is truly a hero! She is constantly making connections with our students and players and checking in on them. She helps new staff members feel welcome and is a wealth of knowledge on many different aspects of school procedures.

WMS - Melanie Rogers

Ms. York-Barber is an amazing math teacher. She is wonderful at building relationships with our students and is always willing to help her fellow teachers. She is a great part of the TLC community.

Mrs. Reed is a wonderful and positive person to anyone that comes through the doors at Wood Elementary. It is my first year here and Mrs. Reed made me feel welcomed and a part of the team. She answered ALL and any of my questions that I had.

Dr. Allen has been an integral part of planning and preparation for this school year. If she doesn't know the answer, she finds it for you fast! She provides knowledge and insight that helps to guide future plans for the building and is just a kind person to be around.

East - Sara Allen

Her leadership has been instrumental in guiding our Lighthouse Team through LIM training and her support with pacing building lessons has been invaluable. She generously volunteers her time to serve on multiple committees, all to foster the growth of both staff and students.

WSGC - Angela Houf

Shirley Megill is the chaos coordinator and queen of all things. She goes above and beyond to help everyone. She is a positive presence in the office for families and community members. She is very organized and helps our team stay organized.

WECC - Shirely Megill

Mrs. Stephanie has done a wonderful job making students and staff feel welcome in the cafeteria. In addition to making sure students are cared for, she works hard to make sure the staff is also taken care of with our daily coffee bar and Wednesday breakfast sandwiches.

Partridge - Stephanie Kudela

Ms. Emily Wilkinson is always prepared for helping students as they come through the breakfast and lunch line. She connects with students to build positive relationships each day as well as the staff. Her special treats she brings into school make everyone smile.
