Commercial Printing

About the Program

(Open to Grades 11, 12 & Adults) 

Millions of printing impressions are made each day.   According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, some printing careers will grow as much as 92.3% in the next five years.

Commercial Printing is a two-year program designed for high school juniors, seniors and adult students.   Only students who have successfully completed Commercial Printing I may enroll in Commercial Printing II.

This program has been updated over the last few years to include Screen Printing, Embroidery, and Engraving.

Students will learn:

  • Printing Processes 

  • Workplace Safety                 

  • Laser Engraving 

  • Dye Sublimation 

  • Printing Finish and Bindery 

  • Digital Printing

  • Offset Press Fundamentals

  • Use of Paper Folder and   Paper Cutter

  • Screen Printing

  • T-Shirt Design

  • Screen Burning

  • Use of Screen Press

  • Use of Image Dryer

  • Use of Screen Exposure Unit

  • Pad Printing

  • Embroidery

Commercial Printing and Graphic Design have been an integral part of Mr. Mezzacapa's life for over 25-years. He also brings previous teaching experience from Missouri State University's Art & Design Department, where he taught Graphic Design, Design Systems and Print Production.

He has been a Missouri native his whole life, where he enjoys the Ozark outdoors with camping, floating, hiking, exploring and boating, often spent with his large family and two-daughters and four-grandchildren.

Degrees and Certifications:

  • Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) with emphasis in Graphic Design.

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Marketing.
