My name is Shiloh Smith, I have been married to my husband Justin for 26yrs and we have 3 beautiful and smart-loving children along with one granddaughter. I have been a nurse since 2000 and my background is in geriatrics, hospital settings and school nursing. I have been with the Waynesville school district since 2009 and started my journey over at Freedom Elementary. I currently cover the WSGC and Parker buildings. I am currently housed at the WSGC just below the Parker building. I get called to come to the Parker building for any medical needs for Parker students.

I believe that as a school nurse, my main role is to make sure our students are healthy and to be educated. Students need to be in class as much as possible to get the education they need. If, at any time, you have concerns about your child's medical issues, please email or call me. I have an open-door policy for students, staff and parents. I want to make sure that you know your child is in good hands while at school.

Just a few things to review:

1. Make sure you access your parent portal via Powerschool and complete your child's Student Medical form yearly. This form must be on file in order to give OTC medications and this is how we update any medical concerns regarding your child. If you have any concerns you would like to discuss with me, please call or email. 

2. ALL MEDICATIONS must be brought in by a parent or guardian in their original container. This is our district policy. Please do not send medication to school with your child.

3. Do not send your child to school if they have had a fever, vomiting or diarrhea. Students must be out a full 24hr school day without any of these symptoms before returning. Contact the main office to report your child's illness.
